Service Centre for Foreign Workers in Norway

The Norwegian police, the directorate of immigration, the tax directorate and the labour inspection authorities have established a joint service centre in Oslo for foreign workers in Norway.

The service centre serves EEA-citizens on Norwegian job contracts, as well as citizens from countries outside the EEA who have already received offers of employment and are applying for specialist work permits. The centre also serves family members of both categories.

At the service centre, workers or their employers can apply for the following:

* First time work and residence permits
* Renewal of work and residence permits
* Tax deduction card
* Personal identification number (or temporary D-number)
* Notification of immigration and address in the Norwegian Population Register

The service centre serves all of Norway, but applications must be made in person. If the application is correctly filled in and all required documentation is enclosed, a reply will be received within 5 working days.

You find the Service Centre for Foreign Workers at:

Schweigaardsgate 17, Oslo
